FF#8: The Most Beautiful Moment In (a Fan’s) Life Pt. 2

Change is one of the most certain things in life, and that applies to a fangirl’s life as well. Fads whizz by you so fast that, before you can process it, a new one comes along. New artists/performers/celebrities arrive on the scene faster than you can say “who?”, and don’t be surprised if this personality you thought would be around in the limelight for a long time suddenly drops off into oblivion. That’s change. They come and go. It’s a huge bouquet of uncertainties. But if there is one certainty in all this, it is this: once a fangirl, always a fangirl, no matter that the subject or object has changed.

FF #7: BTS on Fire in HwaYangYeonHwa On Stage: Epilogue in Manila

Seeing Bangtan on YouTube, Twitter, Naver’s V App and various other websites that I visit everyday, I thought seeing them live on stage for the first time would be somehow anticlimactic. Or that it would not be as exciting. After all, I see them during the great part of every day (that’s how much of a fan I am), and I hear Jimin’s voice every time I get a new SMS on my phone. And then Hwa Yang Yeon Hwa On Stage: Epilogue in Manila happened. BOY, WAS I SO WRONG.

FF#5: YG & Big Bang Feels at Everland (a.k.a. K-Poppin’ at a Theme Park)

When in Rome, do as the Romans do. From a fangirl’s POV, we could spin that into “when in the land of K-pop, do as a K-pop fan does”. I know of many fans who purposely head over to places such as Cheongdam-dong and Apgujeong-dong to “nonchalantly stroll” past the entertainment agency buildings, hoping for a sighting of this or that idol. Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on how you look at it), this was never high on my list of things to do. That does not preclude, however, my perking up when I hear a familiar K-pop tune playing on the street or a poster or a standee of a K-pop artist that I took a particular shine to. What can I say, once a fangirl, always a fangirl.

FF#3: My One OK Rock Experience, (REALLY!) Live in Manila 2016

I always had a grudging respect for fans who take matters into their own hands and “stalk” the celebs they “fan”. My first thought was, “da*n, these people sure have a lot of time on their hands”, followed by “I can’t really picture myself doing the same”. Well… I guess there’s a first time for everything.

FF#2: The Most Beautiful Moment In (a Fan’s) Life Pt. 1

Taking liberties with this post’s title, which is inspired (or should I say, infires?) by the title of one of my favorite album releases recently, by Bangtan Sonyeondan (aka Bangtan Boys, aka BTS, aka Bulletproof Boy Scouts if we’re going to be literal about it), “The Most Beautiful Moment in Life Pt. 1”. I think it’s most fitting, since (a) that EP is the BOMB and (b) I am highly anticipating their follow-up, “The Most Beautiful Moment in Life Pt. 2”, which will finally be dropped on November 30. That’s just a couple of days away! And also my belated way of saying belated Happy Birthday to a certain fish-loving space cadet who goes by the name of Ohno Satoshi.

FF#1: Watching MIRACLE in Japan

I am well aware of the not-so-good connotation that the world “fangirl” brings to many people. And I don’t blame them. That does not mean, however, that I will completely wash my hands clean of the name. I won’t. I am a fangirl, and I realized that one way to show how much I embrace that identity is by starting a ‘FANgirl friday’ series of posts on this blog. And what better way to start things off on an official footing, than with a post related to my most cherished fandom? Let me talk about the time I watched a movie in Japan, and it so happened to be Miracle“, which starred Aiba, 1/5 of my favorite group of all time, Arashi.
