FF#9: Flyin’ High, Bangtan-style (BTS’ “The Wings Tour in Manila”)

When Namjoon and the boys promised to be “back very soon” during their “HwaYangYeonHwa On Stage: Epilogue in Manila“, I resolved right there and then to be there to welcome them yet again in Manila. Somehow, a part of me never doubted that they’d be back. For some reason, I have grown to trust these boys – their music, they dedication and, yes, even their marketing. So when word came out earlier this year that they made Manila as one of the last stops of their Wings World Tour ( and for two nights, at that), I knew I’d move heaven and earth to be there at least one of those nights.

FF#5: YG & Big Bang Feels at Everland (a.k.a. K-Poppin’ at a Theme Park)

When in Rome, do as the Romans do. From a fangirl’s POV, we could spin that into “when in the land of K-pop, do as a K-pop fan does”. I know of many fans who purposely head over to places such as Cheongdam-dong and Apgujeong-dong to “nonchalantly stroll” past the entertainment agency buildings, hoping for a sighting of this or that idol. Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on how you look at it), this was never high on my list of things to do. That does not preclude, however, my perking up when I hear a familiar K-pop tune playing on the street or a poster or a standee of a K-pop artist that I took a particular shine to. What can I say, once a fangirl, always a fangirl.

FF#3: My One OK Rock Experience, (REALLY!) Live in Manila 2016

I always had a grudging respect for fans who take matters into their own hands and “stalk” the celebs they “fan”. My first thought was, “da*n, these people sure have a lot of time on their hands”, followed by “I can’t really picture myself doing the same”. Well… I guess there’s a first time for everything.

Big Bang MADE to Party in Manila!

We Like 2 Party. That’s the title of one of the most recent releases of Big Bang, and they proved the truth of that line. Granted, all VIPs (that’s what Big Bang fans are called) are already aware of what a powerhouse these five (or even separately as solo artists) are, but it feels soooo good to personally witness it unfold in front of our eyes. This whole 2+ hours’ concert was one epic party. Continue reading “Big Bang MADE to Party in Manila!”

CNBLUE 2014 Arena Tour: WAVE… in Nagoya

The first week of December 2014 is a wonderful, wonderful, time to be an Arashi & CNBLUE fangirl in Nagoya. When we were planning the trip, the concerts weren’t really the “main” event, since (a) the Nagoya leg of thw “CNBLUE 2014 Arena Tour: Wave” was originally scheduled sometime October or November. And the odds of us scoring Arashi tickets were, well, very low, indeed. And then, it happened. The CNBLUE cons were moved to December 3 and 4. Our flight home from Nagoya is on December 7. AND THEN Arashi’s Nagoya concert was set for the 5th. Right there and then, we just knew WE HAD TO GO TO ALL THREE. It’s a good thing Peach is a member of the Japan FC, so she was able to get tickets for two nights. Continue reading “CNBLUE 2014 Arena Tour: WAVE… in Nagoya”

What I Loved About CNBLUE "Can’t Stop" Live Tour 2014 in Manila

I figured we all deserve a time to be spastic or “let loose the inner fangirl in us”, and that is exactly what this post is all about. Clearly, I am still on a high after catching Yonghwa, Jonghyun, Jungshin and Minhyuk in the Manila leg of their CAN’T STOP 2014 live tour at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, heavy rains and flooding and all. Before I completely close on that chapter (well, not completely, since I have a series of posts coming up that are indirectly related to them), let me just post a few more of the snaps I managed to take during the concert, and also share the things that I loved about it. (You can read my mini-con report right here.) Continue reading “What I Loved About CNBLUE "Can’t Stop" Live Tour 2014 in Manila”

Typhoon Mario "Can't Stop" CNBLUE Live In Manila

Outside, neighboring towns and cities are submerged in a flood. Typhoon Mario is making his presence felt in a not-at-all-subtle manner. All the way in Hawaii, Arashi Blast is happening (which is verrrry fitting). Inside the SMART Araneta Coliseum, the show went on. Which is a good thing, because I braved the foul weather to travel all the way from Baguio to catch this concert that I have been looking forward to in months. Thank you, CNBLUE and the organizers for not letting Typhoon Mario stop “CAN’T STOP” from happening!
